KALEARTEAN is an encounter of ephemeral interventions, linked to art, design and creativity, which temporarily transforms unused private commercial spaces in Basauri (Bizkaia, Spain). It is an initiative by Maraka for the Town Council of Basauri and has the collaboration of the town’s real estate companies, private owners of commercial premises and the association of merchants.
The selection of the creative participants in the encounter is carried out by an open call for projects, organised into different modalities and participation categories.

MARAKA is a services design studio and laboratory. Founded in 2014 by Eider Aldape Martin and Irune Jiménez González, it is located in Bilbao. At MARAKA we design responses to the new realities to which companies and public institutions must adapt.
