Paper Tables

The structure of the PAPER TABLES is reminiscent of stacks of paper, or the cross section of a book. Cut, sampled and sorted paper is compressed into a new material, with an intrinsic individual texture similar to wood grain. The ‘paper tables’ are handmade by a fair trade cooperative in Vietnam. Artisans from around the country receive small personal loans and support marketing their crafts from the cooperative, and a portion of the profit beyond this is invested towards social projects in the country.

The GOMPF + KEHRER brand was founded by the two designers Verena Stella Gompf and Cordula Kehrer, and expresses a commitment to material and craftsmanship. The designers’ motivation and inspiration spring from their own curiosity and their zeal for experimentation. The collection of Gompf + Kehrer demonstrates that exceptional design begins with a harmonious interplay of design, materials and handicraft.
