We have all, at one time in our lives, had objects that marked us and that we’ll always remember; objects that were special and that we loved for their emotional value, great functionality or beauty. In short, they were a jewel like no other to us. Over time, they have perhaps become obsolete, stopped working, broken or ended up forgotten at the back of a drawer. This is when they can become TROF-JETOS.
XAN’s works are the result of an almost childlike experience of in situ discovery. Reusing objects as an implicit doctrine is palpable, always reinventing the stereotyped forms of everyday things and even contributing a dialogue with the viewer to his creations through mechanical surprises and sound.
